Twiluna: Birth of Starburst

It was Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas. Twilight and Luna were getting their house ready for the Christmas party they were throwing with their friends tonight.

Twilight was already 9 months pregnant and was expecting their new foal any day now. Luna has been getting very nervous about their soon-coming foal. Ever since the start of December, she had a tendency to get hyper whenever Twilight talked about the foal. Twilight has been getting worried about Luna's behavior, and the fact that its already Christmas Eve has Twilight even more worried, as she didn't want Luna to overreact during the party.

"Twilight?" Twilight turned toward Luna, "Yes, dear?" she said.

"Are you sure about this party? I know its important to be with family and friends this time of year, but with you 9 months pregnant, and with a foal coming at any time, I just don't think it would be good for you." Luna said worryingly.

Twilight kissed Luna on the forehead, "I'm sure it will be fine. If the foal can wait 9 months, I'm sure it won't mind waiting until after Christmas is over, don't you think?" She said, wearing a big grin on her face.

Luna smiled, "I guess your right, I just worry about pointless stuff these days. I think the fact that its the holidays is making it worse."

"Don't worry. I don't mind. It's good to know you at least care for me." Twilight said, nuzzling her wife. It was then that Twilight felt a sharp pain in her stomach, "Agh!" she yelped.

"Twilight, whats wrong?" Luna said, holding Twilight up with her head.

"OW! The baby must've kicked." Twilight regained her stature, "I'm sure its nothing. Let's just get ourselves ready for the par- AGGGH!" Twilight screamed in pain, "Yeah, I think that was more than a kick." Twilight said awkwardly, trying but failing to lighten the mood.

"Uh oh! Looks like the foal decided to come out before the party even started. Here, I'll fly us to the hospital." Luna said, lifting Twilight onto her back. Before Luna made it to the door, the doorbell rang. When Luna opened the door, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and their two daughters were at the door, all covered in scarves and sweaters.

"Hi luna!" Fluttershy said, "Are we late for the party?"

"I'm afraid to say that the party has been cancelled tonight, now if you'll excuse me, me and Twilight need to get to the hospital. NOW!" Luna said, pushing the couple out of the way and taking off.

When they arrived at the hospital, Luna immediately told the doctor to get Twilight to the nearest room. Seeing as Luna was a princess, the doctor couldn't do anything but listen to her orders. Twilight was rushed into a room just next to the main office and began her contractions.

"Twilight, its okay." Luna said to Twilight, who was crying out of fear of the inevitable pain, "I will be by your side no matter what," Luna said, squeezing Twilight's hoof tightly in hers.

Twilight nodded, unable to speak between her sniffling. It was then that the pain began. Twilight screamed as the doctor told her to push, all the while Luna had one hoof around Twilight's shoulder and the other squeezing Twilight's hoof. Twilight never experienced pain like this before, and she felt like it would never end. One second in reality felt like hours to her.

After 5 minutes of intense, the first cries of Twilight and Luna's new foal were heard, bringing joyful tears to Luna's eyes.

"Well, princess Luna, it wasn't easy," The doctor said to Luna, holding a bundle of blankets in his hooves, "But here is your new daughter. I will be back in a few minutes with the guests that the nurse said arrived to see you. Until then, you may enjoy being with your new daughter." He said, handing the bundle to Luna. Luna uncovered the blankets over the foals head to see the face of a beautiful baby filly. The skin was a dark blue with a light pink and violet mane. Luna could hear the faint sound of the filly's light breathing as it slept. Luna's eyes began to gush in tears at her new daughter.

"Luna," Twilight said as she woke up from her nap of exhaustion. Luna turned to her, "yes?"

"Could I see our daughter?" Twilight asked. Luna layed the filly on its side next to Twilight in the bed and took away the wrappings. Twilight and Luna gasped when they saw both wings and a horn on their filly.

"Wow! Our daughters an alicorn!" Twilight said in an excited whisper. Luna leaned in and nuzzled the filly, which rolled to its other side on her mother's touch.

Twilight cried silently at the spectacle. She had never seen anything so beautiful in her life. She turned to Luna and kissed her on the cheek. Luna turned to Twilight at her kiss, then proceeded to kiss Twilight on the lips.

"Hey guys!"

Twilight and Luna broke their brief moment and turned to the entrance, where Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were waiting, followed closely by their daughters, along with Eevee, Rarity, Applejack, and Pinkie, who unsurprisingly came in hopping joyfully with a cake on her head and a case of cupcakes on her back.

"Not that we mind your company or anything, but what are you all doing here?" Twilight said.

"Well, when you both flew to the hospital, me and Fluttershy went to find everyone else to bring them all here!" Rainbow said.

"Did you honestly think that we would miss your daughter's birth, darling? Even if it was sudden, we would never miss our friends special day, even on Christmas." Rarity said.

"YEAH!" Pinkie said happily, jumping in front of Twilight and Luna, "there's no way we would miss anything like this!"

"SHHH! Not so loud, Pinkie. Your gonna wake Starburst!" Twilight said.

"Starburst?" Luna said, "you already came up with a name for her?"

"Yes. The name came to me after thinking about what happened tonight." Twilight said, looking toward her daughter.

"Awwwwwwwww!" Spectra and Lightning Bug said simultaneously after seeing Starburst, "She looks so cute!" Spectra said.

"That's exactly how you both looked when you were born." Rainbow Dash said to her daughters, "You both looked so cute and you two are still the most beautiful things I've seen since I met your mom!" she said. Fluttershy blushed.

Applejack smacked Rainbow's shoulder, "Ow! What was that for, AJ?" Rainbow said, rubbing her shoulder.

"First, quiet down. Second, this is Twilight's special night. Ya'll can talk about that stuff anytime." Applejack said.

"Yeah, your right. Sorry, Twi." Rainbow said.

"Its okay. Right now I'm happy that you all could be hear tonight." Twilight said.

"Come on!" Pinkie said, laying the cake and cupcakes on a nearby table, "Lets get this party started!"

Everyone, with the exception of Twilight and Luna, walked to the table and helped themselves to whatever they could eat.

Luna kissed Twilight on the forehead, "Merry Christmas, Twilight."

Twilight kissed Luna back on the lips, "Merry Christmas to you to, Luna"
