Fearful Bug

Vinyl and I landed in front of our house, wearing worried expressions on our faces.

"Do you think Lightning Bug will take this well?" Vinyl asked me.

"I'm not sure. Most likely not, though I'm sure I can convince her that we're the same people we were before...I hope..." I said as it began to rain. I walked into the house and looked around for Lightning Bug.

"Where is she?" Vinyl asked, walking into the kitchen to see if Lightning was there.

"I'm not sure. LIGHTNING!?" I called through the house. Seconds later, I heard rumbling from upstairs. I ran up to the source, which turned out to be Lightning's guest room, and knocked on the door.

"GO AWAY! I'M NOT LETTING YOU BITE ME!" Lightning yelled from inside.

"Huh? Lightning, it's me...your uncle..." I said to her.

"YOU CAN'T TRICK ME! I SAW VINYL BITE YOU! YOU'RE ONE OF THEM! I DON'T WANT TO BECOME ONE OF YOU FREAKS!"

I stepped back in horror. How did Lightning find out so fast? Did she follow me and I didn't realize it?

I start walking downstairs and toward the door. "We're leaving Vinyl..."

"Huh? What about Lightning Bug?" Vinyl asked me in surprise.

"She considers us freaks. Besides, even if we were able to convince her that we were fine, what if either of us couldn't control our vampony instincts? We're a bigger danger than you think...it's better we just leave..."

Vinyl stared at me in anger. "I'm fully capable of controlling myself. You can do whatever the hell you want, because I'm staying!"

I stared at Vinyl in shock. "...fine..." I felt myself losing control of my actions as I ripped the wedding ring off my hoof. "Then consider this as a parting gift." I said, tossing the ring to Vinyl's feet and flying out into the cold rain.

"Wait! Come back!" I heard Vinyl cry toward me, but I ignored her and kept flying until she was out of earshot.

A couple of hours later, I landed next to an abandoned wooden home in the middle of nowhere, sitting down next to a dead tree. I stared at the ground for minutes on end as the rain continued to batter the ground.

'What have I done?' I thought to myself, tears beginning to flow in my eyes. I heard the sound of hoofsteps next to me, and I looked to see Lightning Bug standing next to me, crying.

"Stay away, Lightning. I don't want to hurt you..." I said to Lightning, who ignored me and proceeded to hug my neck.

"I'm sorry for calling you a freak, uncle...I heard everything that happened with you and aunt Vinyl earlier, and I felt...upset about what happened...as if I started it all." She said, sobbing into my neck fur.

I hugged her back. "You didn't start it at all, Lightning. It's my fault...I can't imagine how upset Vinyl is right now...I can't believe I did that to her."

We embraced for sometime as the rain came down harder by the minute. Lightning let go of me and looked up at me. "C-can we go home n-now, Uncle? I-I think I'm getting a c-cold." She sneezed right after finishing her statement.

I smiled and picked Lightning up, kissing her fore head. "Yeah. I have a wife to apologize to anyway." I gently plopped her onto my back and flew home.

I had another ending in mind, but I'm getting tired and do not want to go any further, so just assume that Vinyl and I made up and lived happily ever after.

Also, this story REALLY likes to use the sadness cliches. My bad
